FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
We are Louise and Merl, Swedish sisters who have lived in the UK since we were little. We’ve always loved making things, and from a young age were taught to be resourceful, and to love and respect our environment.
Louise started experimenting with waste plastic in 2012 whilst at Brighton University, and started her studio in 2015, a year after graduating. She then spent two and a half years refining the processes and working on commissions, culminating in designing and building a large hydraulic press capable of producing sheets of recycled plastic for larger applications of the material.
Merl joined in 2017 after a huge tabletop project was undertaken - with her also having an artistic background as well as working in interiors it couldn’t have been a better pairing.
Everything we have learnt over the years has been through trial and error - there’s never been a rulebook to follow with what we do!
FIND OUT MORE ABOUT OUR JOURNEY...
We operate a collection service for businesses in Brighton & Hove who are looking to recycle their waste LDPE locally. We are not currently looking to take on more LDPE collections, however we encourage businesses in Brighton & Hove to contact us if this service may be of interest, as we have a waiting list.
FIND OUT MORE ABOUT OUR PROCESS...
It’s been hard to keep track, but we think it’s in the ballpark of 8,000kg, or 8 tonnes of waste LDPE plastic!
Our studios are nestled in a working mews on the Brighton/Hove border. The location is perfect for us as we’re so close to the businesses we collect waste plastic from, making it a truly local recycling point in Brighton.

Whilst we are not currently looking to take on more LDPE collections, we do encourage businesses in Brighton & Hove to contact us anyway, as we have a waiting list.
We can indeed. We are able to produce bespoke pieces in sizes up to 2400mm x 1200mm.
FIND OUT MORE ABOUT SHEET MATERIAL...
Our sheet material can be used for tabletops, countertops, shelving, wall art and countless more applications! See our sheet material page for our recommendations, or get in touch with your ideas and we’ll be happy to discuss further.

Yes we do! We have worked with many hotels, bars, and restaurants looking to reduce their waste by replacing their disposable napkins and cardboard coasters with something reusable and beautiful. We can produce bespoke colourways and deboss logos into the top surface of our products. Get in touch with us to receive our wholesale catalogue.
FIND OUT MORE ABOUT BESPOKE COASTERS...
Because of our colour mixing method we are able to create bespoke colourways in endless combinations, and are usually able to duplicate colour palettes from design briefs.
Most of the plastic we recycle comes to us in neutral tones - clear, grey, beige or black. We then use the pigment that's already in waste plastic such as carrier bags, and hand knead them into these neutral bases. With this process a small amount of colour goes a long way: as little as 1g of coloured plastic can be enough to colour 1000g of clear plastic to a translucent pastel hue.
Currently some colourways are not possible for us to create in large sheet form due to our waste plastic sources. Please share your ideas with us and we’ll see if it’s possible!

Unfortunately it is unlikely that we are able to collaborate with you in this way - we are always working on product development of our own designs and there simply aren’t enough hours in the day! We do hope that this is something we are able to offer in the future.
