COLLABORATIONS

WORKING TOGETHER WITH ARTISTS & MAKERS

X THOMAS GONTAR

BLACKSMITH OF GLYNDE FORGE, EAST SUSSEX, UK

We have been collaborating with Thomas Gontar on various projects for the last couple of years - our ethics align perfectly: obsession with traditional crafts, recycled materials, and all things handmade.

Our collections of tables, benches, stools and tools are a celebration of crafts new and old, stemming from a desire to highlight the importance of the handmade in a time where so much is mass-produced and unsustainable: together we’re looking to the past, but also to the future, to see what can emerge when the two come together.

This really is the tip of the iceberg and we have many more exciting works in the pipeline!

X BEHIND BARS

EVA DRINKS TROLLEY, BARCELONA

For Barcelona's rooftop restaurant SiSi, we created bespoke panels for their Behind Bars Eva Trolley, in the same Tortoiseshell Sage colourway as the coasters we made for the venue: fresh, vibrant green, with depth and contrast to match the aesthetic of the restaurant. The panels needed to be durable and lightweight, and impermeable to liquids, so our recycled plastic was the ideal material.

These panels were made using a mix of LDPE plastic from our waste streams in Brighton & Hove, including packaging from the bar industry, clothing retailers, and carpet and fabric shops. Each of these panels contain the equivalent of approx 100 bags for life (2.7kg).

X CHARLOTTE KIDGER

INTERNAL WINDOW FACADE, SWINDON, UK

We had the opportunity to collaborate with fellow waste material artist Charlotte Kidger, working together in finding an elegant solution to an ugly problem - the LDPE waste created during the construction of a new premises for Zurich Insurance.

With Charlotte we also hosted a plastic recycling workshop for the local community, making some coasters for the participants on the day in their choice of colours. Together we sorted through the 80kg of waste plastic that had accumulated during the construction of the building, mostly in the form of sheet material, mortar bags and pallet wrap. With this plastic we created 55 suspended marbled discs for the window of the ground floor, showcasing the potential of this waste material in art form.

FAQS

Can you fabricate my design in your material?

Depending on the design and the volume of production, this might be something that we would be able to do. For un-credited work, however, it is unlikely that we would be able to work with you in this way. If it is more of a collaborative project though, please get in touch to discuss your idea.

Can you ship abroad?

Yes, however please note that any duty, import and customs fees are the responsibility of the client.

Are you able to create bespoke pieces using my colour palette?

Yes! Because of our colour mixing methods, we are able to create bespoke colourways in endless combinations. We are used to working to design briefs, Pantones, or matching brand colours; making pieces to match the décor of a room; or working from mood boards - whichever way works best for your project.

Whilst we are always able to incorporate all of your design colours into our larger pieces, certain proportions of colours are sometimes harder to create, due to our waste plastic sources, however, please share your ideas with us and we’ll see what’s possible!
